Before sending documents to our General Consulate, please send an e-mail to catla@mrecic.gov.ar stating your name, place of usual residence, country issuing your passport, type of visa requested (tourism, business, artist, student, etc.) and estimated time of stay in Argentina.

APPLICANTS FROM COUNTRIES REQUIRING VISAS WILL BE INTERVIEWED BY A CONSULAR OFFICER AFTER ALL THE PROPER DOCUMENTATION HAS BEEN SUBMITTED.

PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THE PROCESSING OF YOUR VISA REQUEST MAY TAKE UP TO 3 WEEKS.

SHOULD THE APPLICANT QUALIFY FOR SAME DAY ISSUANCE UPON THE INTERVIEW, AN ADDITIONAL USD 40 FEE IS CHARGED.

TOURIST

Any individual coming to the Argentine Republic for recreational or leisure purposes up to 90 days. Article 24(a).

Requirements:

1. Fill in the application form (in English). All questions must be answered.

2. Copy of valid Passport (passport must be valid for a period of at least 6 months from the date of departure). Original must be submitted the day of the interview.          

3. Two recent passport size photographs.     

4. Proof of your immigration status in the U.S. (for non-U.S. nationals): i.e., Alien Registration Card, Advance Parole Document, Employment Authorization Card, valid visa, valid forms IAP66, or I-20 (signed on the back by designated school official). Please provide a copy of the pertinent document.

5. Proof of funds:  bank statements for the last six months, certified by the bank with a stamp or letter of verification.

6. Hotel reservation in Argentina, guaranteed by a credit card (name and dates must match those of flight reservation). If you are visiting family members or friends, enclose an original letter of invitation certified by an Argentine Notary Public (“Escribano”) and by the “Colegio de Escribanos”.  A copy of the DNI (Argentine ID) of the person extending the invitation is also required.

7. Itinerary:  copy of the round trip flight reservation with the name of the visa applicant on it (guaranteed by a credit card).

8. Proof of current occupation/activity: notarized employment letter --download .DOC or .PDF--, notarized college record, etc.  If you own a business, please attach a copy of the articles of incorporation or last tax return.

Interview:

Once all documents are received by the Consular Office, the applicant will be contacted and an interview will be scheduled. In accordance with the relevant law of the Argentine Republic, the Consul is entitled to refuse the visa.

Fee: a US$ 150 fee is charged upfront (free for nationals from India and Morocco). The fee should be paid by money order.

You are advised to submit all documents at least forty five (45) days prior to the proposed date of departure to avoid inconveniences

BUSINESS - Art. 24(h) – Business person or person in charge of business or
economic affairs Persons who conduct, on a regular basis, business or other economic activities on their own behalf and with their own capital; with a share in
companies or other legal entities conducting such activities; or on behalf of
such companies or entities. In addition, persons entering the Argentine territory in
order to participate in exhibitions or fairs for up to 60 days.

Requirements:

  • Valid passport or travel document.
  • Two passport type pictures. Front view, no glasses or hats, white background.
  • Driver's License and current US visa terms.
  • Round ticket to Argentina (reservation).
  • Letter of invitation signed before an Argentine Notary Public and certified by the relevant Association of Notaries Public in Argentina, including the registration number with the National Registry of Visa Request Sponsors of the company or individual inviting the applicant to the Argentine Republic, as well as the applicant's personal data, the purpose of the visit, the activities to be carried out,and the duration of applicant's stay.   • Proof of the applicant's background in the field (business references, “Articles/Certificate of Incorporation” of any relevant companies, certificate of good standing of such companies, Shareholder’s Certificate, LLC MemberCertificate, Business Tax Registration, EIN Employer Identification Number, etc, with the Apostille (Secretary of State where the document is issued)
  • In the case of applicants participating in exhibitions or fairs, proof of registration must be submitted as well.

TECHNICAL - Article 24(h) – To conduct paid or unpaid activities up to 30 days
(DNM 1170/2010)

Any person arriving in the Argentine Republic in order to conduct paid or unpaid
activities in the scientific, professional, technical, religious or artistic field for up to 30
days.

Requirements:

  • Valid passport or travel document.
  • Two passport type pictures. Front view, no glasses or hats, white background.
  • Driver's License and current visa terms in the US
  • Round trip to Argentina (reservation).
  • Letter of Invitation signed before an Argentine Notary Public and certified by the relevant Association of Notaries Public in Argentina, including the registration number with the National Registry of Visa Request Sponsors of the company or individual inviting the person to Argentina (see Letter of Invitation - RENURE - ALL REQUIREMENTS IN THE LETTER MUST BE FULFILLED)
  • Proof of the visitor's profession/employer letter
